Shadow

How do you describe the pain
Of loss,
Or explain that dark
Shadow
On your soul
When a
Friend
Is no more?

How to reconcile
Death
When it is so
Hated, so
Close, so
Inevitable.

If you have the
Heart, the
Strentgth, the
Fortitude, then You
Write, a
Song, a
Sonnet, a
Eulogy that
Tells the world about that
Noble Spirit, that
Love of boundless
Joy,
Never Forlorn,
Always Forgiving;
Infinitely Unconditional.

You take that picture, that
Rememberance, a
Token, a
Memory.
Place it carefully,
Lovingly
Into bounded book
With these thoughts of
Love, these
Ideas of
Life, these
Passions.

And you store it safely away for
Future, the
Day, when the
Heart is
Mended, the
Soul is
Calm, the
Mind is
Peaceful. And
You
Remember
